Harris Corporation Joins Hosted Payload Alliance

DEERFIELD, IL – February 2, 2012 – Harris Corporation has joined the Hosted Payload Alliance (HPA) as an Executive Member, HPA announced. As an Executive Member, Harris will have a seat on the 2012 HPA Board of Directors, the Alliance’s governing body.

The Harris Corporation joins HPA member companies Arianespace, ATK Space Systems, Boeing, EADS North America, Intelsat, Iridium, Lockheed Martin, Orbital, Raytheon, SES, and Space Systems/Loral as the 12 Executive Board members. HPA represents satellite operators, satellite manufacturers, system integrators and launch service providers, as well as other interested parties.
Ms. Janet Nickloy, Director of Business Development, Space Communication Systems for Harris, will serve as the company’s primary representative to HPA. Ms. Nickloy notes that Harris was motivated to join HPA to provide a different perspective. “Harris can contribute a wealth of experience to HPA, not only as a payload provider, but also as an end-to-end mission expert,” said Nickloy. “Regardless if it’s the commercial or government sector, Harris is in the business of providing mission critical information to the right user at the right time. Working with HPA, our goal is to make space more accessible to the global community.”

HPA is a nonprofit satellite industry association established to serve as a bridge between government and private industry, fostering open communication between potential users and providers of hosted payload capabilities. HPA focuses on education, awareness and developing solutions to common challenges.
